Leave of Absence Doctor of Nursing Practice DNP

Any DNP student who leaves the University for reasons approved by the Director of the DNP Program of the School of Nursing and Health Sciences (SNHS) with the intention of returning is considered to be on leave of absence.

Procedure

Any DNP student who wishes to apply for a leave of absence from the university should notify his/her academic nursing advisor in the graduate program. The student should complete a Leave of Absence Request Form, obtain the signature of the academic advisor and submit the signed form to the Program Director. If approved by the Program Director, the leave of absence will be granted.

In general, the leave of absence should not exceed two terms, including the summer semester. If the student does not return at the end of the leave, the student will be required to follow the University's Graduate Reinstatement Policy.
